I like the way they post summaries on sunmanagers.org so I thought I would post a summary here. I found a way to specifically log the NFS mount connections. It does keep track of the number of times a system mounts, and the list is permanent. The file is rmtab located in /var/lib/nfs and it retains the IP, directory and a hex value for the system, directory mounted, and I haven't figured out what the hex number is yet. If anyone knows, please clue me in. I next run a script against it to see if a new system has connected, if so then it e-mails me the name of the system. I could use http as mentioned below, but my preferred method of kickstart is nfs. I don't have ftp/http setup for kickstarting so there is no need to use that method.
