This first appeared in RH 7.1 http://www.redhat.com/support/resources/gotchas/7.1/gotchas-71.html If you are going to be using X, grab the XFree86-SVGA server from 7.1, or upgrade to XF4 from 7.3 (it may also work with the updated XF packages--I haven't tried them yet).
