There's another small file that has to be on that boot floppy in order to point at the ks.cfg file on the boot floppy and tell redhat installer to use that ks.cfg file automatically. I'm pretty sure it's talked about in the kickstart howto file but if that small file isn't on the boot disk no cigar. I think it's called syslinux.cfg but don't remember its internal syntax.
