You can do that, or you can specify it on the boot line as ksip=1.2.3.4 In either case, you will need to extract it from /proc/cmdline in you post install script. Your post install script can then use this to rewrite the network configuration. I am using this to set hostname, IP and similar information without hard coding it in kickstart.
