Just FYI, since its come up before. I passed these links on to a similar questioner about a week ago, but not to the whole list. They are good for a start: here are a couple more useful links. It took a little while for me to find them in my notes: http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/RedHat7-CDs-HowTo.html And this is in the middle of a string you might want to check out. I think this has a link to a script makecdimage that I use (modified for local requirements) http://www.redhat.com/mailing-lists/kickstart-list/msg00773.html And I sent this link to the list: A good place to start: Burning a RedHat CD HOWTO Morten Kjeldgaard, mok@xxxxxxxxxx and Peter von der Ahé, pahe+rhcd@xxxxxxxxxxx $Date: 2000/03/02 16:28:37 $ $Revision: 1.34 $ http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/other-formats/html_single/RedHat -CD-HOWTO.html Perhaps when I'm done on my current project, I'll get permission to send out a genericized version of the documents I'm compiling for my coworkers to reproduce / update our custom installation CD. In the meantime, I'll put together a link list of anything else I find related, and send it out later if asked. -----Original Message----- From: Charles Harmon [mailto:ExtremisDiode@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 4:26 PM To: kickstart-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: thoughts on kickstart I think this is a good discussion. Recently myself and a colleague of mine made an attempt to create a custom install. The documentation for kickstart is not too bad, but I can't say the same for anaconda. We scoured the net looking for documentation on creating a custom install but only came up with the RedHat CD HowTo. I think a comprehensive document on how to build a custom installation (based on RH7.x) with kickstart/anaconda would be in order. Personally, I would be glad to contribute such a document if only I had the knowledge. If something like this exist please point me in the right direction. Thanks!
