Changing kernel in install CD

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

My boss threw my coworker and me a curve ball this week. We had a 6.2
kickstart CD and install package all set, tested and ready to go.
Unfortunately he changed the box on us and now the install dies right
away. It looks like it doesn't recognize the SCSI drive.

We just tried a stock RH 7.1 CD and the install works, unfortunately
we don't have time to work in the changes between 6.2 and 7.1 (xinetd,
etc). I'm not even sure what other changes would have to be made.

Is there an easy way to take the kernel/drivers(2.4.XXX) from the 7.1
CD and work them into our CD?

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. We were supposed to
have this project completed by the end of this week!

     Jeff
