Try putting 'mknod /dev/sda' in your %pre - I do it in my setup & it works (mind you I'm doing it with an ide drive)

This didn't work.  I still get the message:

  Unable to open /tmp/sda

or

  Unable to open /dev/sda

depending on which device I put in the fdisk command (above).  How can I
force the %pre section to see the device?
