Its a pain (we do it here), but I don't see a way out- Red Hat changes 
the package list, adding, deleteing, splitting, packages every "major" 
release. 

(Rightfully so - thats not a dig on RH - they have to.)

I do not recall any major heartburn (for me) between 6.1 and 6.2 here.
