I'd actually like to see about using func's git a little less distributed
and a bit more central. So we don't end up with 20 different versions out in
random people's trees.
That's how I'm using git at $dayjob. A central hub that everyone
pushes their changesets into.
For most projects, having an 'authoritative' tree is ideal.

And maybe have all commits to the main tree emailed to this list.

That makes sense to me. Func-list is low traffic, and I think adding
commit mails wouldn't be a huge increase in mail traffic.
