That's how I'm using git at $dayjob.  A central hub that everyone
pushes their changesets into.

For most projects, having an 'authoritative' tree is ideal.

That makes sense to me.  Func-list is low traffic, and I think adding
commit mails wouldn't be a huge increase in mail traffic.
