Lets try to get some news boxes on start.fedoraproject.org. The goal to
 make it not look cluttered.

 2 boxes

Each box containing 3 news items

each item would contain a title link and a brief description.

One box would be for fedoraproject news

The other would be for fedora OS news.

The idea being this will be a way to directly communicate with our users.

I'll come up with some basic news items soon for testing. The question is
how we're going to present it to the user. Via a js script similar to how
the banner works? Or just a static page that gets pulled in when the site
 gets built?
