It isn't hidden. The page with the full list of options is linked
prominently (blue banner that says show me all download options) from
http://get.fedoraproject.org. If you click on that, you can see that
page is a quite a maze of links. That however is very confusing to many
end users, especially the non-technical ones and we believe providing
one obvious choice is better. The Live CD  (x86 arch) was picked because
it allows users to try, demo or install as necessary with a smaller
download size. It is obviously the most popular choice for downloads as
well.
