20:01 < tw2113> i'm technically here but not paying the most attention
20:01 < tw2113> i don't think i have any open tasks
20:01 < ricky> There are always new tasks :-)
20:02 < ricky> All righty, then
20:02 -!- ricky changed the topic of #fedora-websites to: Fedora Websites Meeting - Tasks
20:02 < ricky> http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Websites/Tasks
20:03 < ricky> I don't think jonrob is around. quaid: Any update on the CMS search?
20:03 < tw2113> actually i have one, and i just need to keep tweaking it :D
20:04 < ricky> :-(
20:04 < ricky> ylynfatt isn't around either
20:05 < ricky> tw2113: Sooo, what kind of tweaking do you have in mind for docs.fp.o? :-)
20:05 < tw2113> just to keep evolving and touching up the css
20:06 < ricky> OK, mizmo-out doesn't seem around either
20:06 < ricky> ianweller: Any update to the MW redirects?
20:06 < tw2113> she's at the gnome summit
20:06 < ricky> .ticket 883
20:06 < zodbot> ricky: #883 (Fix MediaWiki to use 302s for redirects) - Fedora Infrastructure - Trac - https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/883
20:06 < ricky> Ahh. *that's* why people were showing up from novell/* :-)
20:06 < ianweller> no updates from me
20:06 -!- juank_ [n=juanky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] has joined #fedora-websites
20:06 < ricky> All right
20:07 < ricky> Hey, juank_
20:07 < juank_> ricky, hi hi
20:07 < ricky> Nothing on the infrastructure stuff yet
20:07 < juank_> already started with the meeting?
20:07 < ricky> Yup
20:09 < ricky> All right, so no updates with spins either, I suspect
20:09 < ricky> Next (the big one) - get-fedora
20:10 < ricky> So we're going to get this out by F10 no matter what :-)
20:11 * ricky looks through the mailing list for a minute
20:11 < juank_> and what is the current status... i mean, have somebody worked on that these last days/months :P?
20:11 < juank_> or are we still discussing and planning?
20:12 < ricky> Nope - at this point, we need to start doing to get it ready by the string freeze
20:12 < juank_> ricky, and is already settled what should be done?...
20:12 < ricky> Release is 11/25, and we want to be ready 3 weeks before
20:13 < ricky> Let's try to get all of the small details hammered out now
20:13 < ricky> So right now, my main complaint is probably the disappearing sections
20:14 < juank_> what do you mean?
20:14 < ricky> I think with the latest mockup, when you click a button, that step disappears
20:15 -!- juank_prada [n=juanky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] has quit Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)
20:15 < ricky> Here's the last mockup I know of: http://craigt.fedorapeople.org/get-fedora/get-fedora
20:15 < juank_> hmm.. well.. the latest mockup i left on my fedorapeople space, the step doesnt dissapear
20:16 < juank_> http://jprada.fedorapeople.org/out/en/
20:16 < ricky> Oh :-) My mistaske, then :-)
20:16 < juank_> sorry it actually is http://jprada.fedorapeople.org/out/en/get-fedora
20:17 < ricky> All right, so we have one or two things to worry about
20:17 < juank_> and my complaint with this approach is that all these steps make you have to scroll all down the webiste to actually see the "download" buttom
20:18 < ricky> I think it'd be more confusing for the user if they accidentally clicked somewhere or tried a button out and the entire thing suddenly disappeared
20:18 < juank_> right
20:19 < ricky> One thing I was thinking was to have some text appear after a user makes a choice that shows their choice. I don't know if that's necessary, though
20:19 < ricky> Ooh, so looking at the way it's done, it looks like translations aren't an issue
20:19 < juank_> i was thinking maybe adding a third column to the right whit the actual selection and the Download Button although im not sure if it will look that good
20:20 < ricky> Yeah - it's not all that common to have the most important links on the right
20:21 < juank_> i'll work a bit on this and make it look a bit smaller and make the Download link more noticable
20:21 < ricky> Cool
20:21 < ricky> Some other things we need to test:
20:22 < ricky> Make sure that it works without javascript turned on
20:22 < ricky> We might want a link to the old get-fedora for people that just want to choose and click
20:22 < juank_> yeap
20:22 < ricky> And maybe we should take out the "BANG" part :-)
20:23 < ricky> Not sure how well that translates, etc.
20:23 < juank_> i think i did that .. but im not sure if i uploaded it to fpeople :P
20:23 < ricky> Ah
20:23 < juank_> oh hehe well thats an easy one :P
20:24 < ricky> So I'll talk to releng to make sure that I get a list of exactly what files will be available
20:25 < ricky> So can you get an updated version online somewhere and post it to list along with your plans?
20:25 < juank_> im not sure i understood that part ^^
20:25 < juank_> i mean the raleng part
20:25 < juank_> releng
20:25 < ricky> Basically, just find out if we'll have ppc live cd or not and stuff like that
20:25 < juank_> oh.. ok
20:25 < ricky> We'll probably want a link to spins (or something similar to what we currently have now)
20:26 < juank_> sure.. i'll try to make it during this week
20:26 < ricky> All right - let me know if you need any help - I'll hopefully have some time to dedicate to getting this ready as well
20:26 < juank_> ok :)
20:27 < ricky> I want to get a publictest setup for this soon. I'll probably have a test repo that gets updated more frequently
20:27 < juank_> yeah that would be good
20:28 < ricky> Did you see https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2008-October/msg00011.html by the way?
20:28 < ricky> :-(
20:28 < ricky> I don't think we should worry too much about that, though.
20:28 < juank_> nope.. let me check it now
20:29 < ricky> It wouldn't affect the main get-fedora page anyway
20:29 < juank_> yeah that would be for mirrors page right?
20:30 < ricky> Yeah, I guess. I wonder if mdomsch could make those linked from mirrorlist (if they aren't already) instead
20:35 < ricky> OK, so anything else to discuss?
20:36 < juank_> i think not
20:37 < ricky> All right, then - so we know what we need to do, I'll get the publictest setup soon
20:37 < ricky> Thanks for coming, everybody
20:37 < juank_> ok then :)
20:37 < juank_> thanks ricky
20:37 < ianweller> thanks all
