Graphical boot screen. Instead of seeing a text screen with all the services whizzing up (ok, failed, etc), you just have a graphical screen with a loading bar underneath (giving you no clue as to what's going on, or *not* going on). If you hit escape when it shows up, it goes away and you can see the textual boot progress.
