Oh darn, sorry guys for breaking with the tone of this topic of not offering simple useful help to him, But, I just could not stand seeing him swaying in the wind at the end of a rope that way.

I would never suggest a hard reset of an internet modem since that is highly likely to require ISP intervention afterwards, if not a return and replacement.

Assuming it's a typical setup, accessing the login is not that difficult. I just tried it with mine that is in bridge mode and it took me a minute after I looked up the default IP address.
