Question : How do I look up what it calls them?

If you know the path to the browser, perhaps /usr/bin/opera, AND have
the repo for it active, you could try the dnf command "provides".

$ dnf provides /usr/bin/opera

	I tried "whatprovides" on her machine (and got nothing); is this a
new version of it??

Try rpm -qa | grep -i opera

Simple google searches--say, "opera for linux" will give you links to download and install. You may find repos that contain the things you want, or you may need to install manually the old fashinged way, via 'rpm'.
