The manual (I actually found it) has the same information I gave the list.
My guess is that the laptop has two USB 3.0 data ports,
one of which takes a USB C connector.
My guess is that the USB 3.1 Gen 1 charging port is not a data port.
Otherwise data would have been mentioned.
I'd prefer to know.
There are cheap adapters that have USB-C <--> USB-A available to
allow connecting USB-C devices to a system with only USB-A connections,
and the reverse to allow use of USB-A devices with USB-C ports. You can
also buy USB flash memory "keys" with both USB-A and USB-C (search
for "Lexar Type C Swivel Design").
BTW HP or newegg has done a better job than most.
On rather a lot of laptops, discovering its ports is a god-awful pain.
If I go to a store with physical laptops,
the ports are never listed.
I have to physically inspect the device.
As the device is nailed down and I do not own anything with a USB 3 port,
recognizing USB 3 ports is a pain.
There will often be very knowledgeable users active on vendor forums
who have already done the research and will share.
