Looked at site, and they talk about having to build custom
materials since they are so many variations of ssd chip sets and all
kinds of other things. Under costs, they don't mention anything, so
sure it would many times the cost of drive.
Once had a coworker have a regular 60G drive that had chip on
board fry. Was able to find a used disk with same number on board
for $20 on ebay. Swapped the disk controller board and was able to
get all data. Never opened an ssd drive, or even it it is possible.
Had 99% of things on other computers so just had once script I had
written and hadn't copied to other machine. Took about an hour to
rewrite. So no critical data.

Just wondering if the tech isn't up to standards. I have actual done
a disk imaging project since 2004, but it takes time to make
images. Also, have worked with duplexed drives with Novell, so
perhaps better to setup mirrored drive on machines. Unfortunately,
my notebook only has a single drive setup.

Hopefully, this is just a random failure and others will be running
for years. Had some maxtor drives that were still running after 10
years. Drive was made in 09Sep2022 so isn't even a year old, so
surprized WD said it was out of warranty??

Sent them pictures of disk. Waiting for reply. Web site didn't
except the serial number from drive, so don't know if perhap this
wasn't a legit disk.

Perhaps they will respond in a few days.

Again. Thanks for reply.
