It calls `/sbin/ldconfig -X` where -X means: Don't update links. Unless -N is also specified, the cache is still rebuilt. But I haven't looked at the source or tested to see what it does if a symlink is missing entirely. I don't know if that is considered "updating" it or not. I do think this problem is a self-made one. Anyone who's manually adding, changing, or removing symlinks in /usr/lib* is on their own to fix what they may have broken. -- Todd
