I don't understand the question. The data goes to the player's codec
and thence to the audio output, so obviously it will be in RAM for a
brief period (in some kind of circular buffer) and then be discarded.
It could conceivably be swapped out if the system is under heavy load,
but that's extremely unlikely.
If you mean "does the player use a temporary file?", that would depend
on the player. You can see what files it has open while running by
using 'lsof'.
