Hi all,
I'm trying to use nmcli to set what would be the "search" option in
/etc/resolv.conf.
Using nmcli to set the search domain
"nmcli con mod eth0 ipv4.dns-search main"
(.main is the local private TLD for historical reasons)
"nmcli con show eth0" answers with
ipv4.dns-search: main
So that shows that it has that search domain associated with dns.
Rebooting the fedora 37 container shows that ipv4.dns-search is persistent.
However a simple request such as "ping dns" has no idea what the address
is, yet "ping dns.main" resolves. That says it knows the search domain
but it doesn't know what to do with it.
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6983238 says this was "SOLUTION
VERIFIED" Nov 2, 2022.
This appears to be a bug in current f37. Anybody know anything about this?
Thanks for any help/insight,
Mike Wright
