That's why I put the command in the reply. Control-Alt-F3 through Control-Alt-F6, you press this sequence while in the GUI, and it switches to a virtual console. There, you log in and run the above command, shutdown -P now > That said, I think you have misinterpreted my problem. Right, but if you run the above command in a console, it will print out the shutdown messages, and they will end with something like systemd poweroff reached power off and, at least here, then the system powers down. That will tell you whether fedora is requesting powering off, and the laptop isn't heeding the command, or if it isn't present, tells you that fedora isn't honoring the request to power off. _______________________________________________ users mailing list -- users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to users-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
