BTW where is Helvetica stored?

on both Fedora 35 and 36:

% fc-match Helvetica:en
NimbusSans-Regular.otf: "Nimbus Sans" "Regular"

It seems not to be under /usr/share/fonts .
find /usr -name '*vetica*'
doesn't.

You can't rely on legacy font names as there have been multiple "clones",
often supporting additional languages (hence the need to specify a
language).
The fontconfig system provides aliases for the legacy Adobe names.

Thanks.
I expect a database somewhere connects Helvetica with NimbusSans-Regular.otf .

That still leaves the question of whether
gvim's printing font can be changed.
