Hi,
I am having problem installing a printer for a friend.
It is a new F35 install and the printer is a Samsung ML-1640
connected via USB.
The installation via CUPS seems good but if I try the "Test Page"
nothing happens and "journalctl -u cups -e "

The driver is Samsung_ML-1640_Series.ppd and I copied "rastertospl"
in the filter dir but it seems it doesn't get to that point.
Where did you get the ppd file from and rastertospl? Make sure that
rastertospl is executable and has all the libraries it needs.

Both extracted from the file uld_V1.00.39_01.17.tar.gz downloaded from

But the error seems to be from a different filter "gstoraster".
I'll check that when I have access again but I traid ldd on both on my
machine (another recent F35) and it was OK.
The important lines are
Mar 03 19:34:18 leibniz cupsd[731]: [Job 75] Error: /ioerror in
--showpage--
and
Mar 03 19:34:18 leibniz cupsd[731]: [Job 75] Last OS error: Broken pipe
Mar 03 19:34:18 leibniz cupsd[731]: [Job 75] GPL Ghostscript 9.55.0:

gstoraster is dying because it can't write to whatever program is
supposed to be reading its output. Check the full journal logs to see
if there are any other messages at that time that could indicate what's
happening.
