to folders is put there by a file in /home/Desktop.
Are you using a desktop environment that pretends it's like a
touchscreen tablet? Where instead of menus, all applications get an
icon thrown onto a screen(s) that you have to shuffle through to find.
FYI, when adding a app to a tablet from the Google Play Store it was common that an icon was
added to the screen. This seems to be no longer the case.
I've not added apps to my tablet in quite some time. But I did have to replace my wife's tablet after
an unfortunate incident. None of the addon apps added icons to the screen. Which is good, since
I could then just add them manually and place them in an order to my wife's preference.
