The chance of data corruption due to memory errors is rare, but it does happen. If it happened and you were using ext4, the result wouldn't be that everything is fine, it's that you'd have corrupted data -- hopefully not important, but... you won't know. Now, I don't think btrfs's current state of "now your system won't boot and you need to be an expert to figure out what's going on" is ideal either, but it's a rare situation and recovery tools will improve. -- Matthew Miller <mattdm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Fedora Project Leader _______________________________________________ users mailing list -- users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to users-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
