snap packages and Fedora

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I have never used snap packages in any distro,
and know nothing about them.

I was bored yesterday, and so I tried to install some
snaps and tinker with them.     I loaded the game
"knavalbattle," and the new GIMP fork, "glimpse," and
a note-taking application, "standardnotes."

The snap version of standardnotes is the same as the
appimage version.     According to their website, they
use electron builder and indicated that they do not
see a reason to make a flatpak, but that was two years ago.
There is a newer beta version on github 3.5.1 beta. vs the
3.4.6 stable.

The snaps I tried sure did load slow, but they seem to be functional.

I do not think I was able to get the snap-store to function
properly.

Any snap-lovers in the Fedora-world ??    If so, feel
free to email me privately.
