Why does he need to do a hardware reset? He was just saying that the
motherboard doesn't have built-in video, so he has to have the graphics
card installed to connect a monitor.
His motherboard does have built-in Intel HD video, but the ports require a cable
he can't find. Since there is HDMI, I suggested he try a TV.
His blank screen problems do sound like the graphics card is either
not getting reset or is using a buggy driver.
