I understand all of these factors. I'm looking for some links to vendors 
that delivered something that Fedora ran on, without issues. Google is not 
cooperating.

The big vendors (HP, Dell, Lenovo) all have Linux "certified" 
configurations for higher end model ranges:


Pick one you like and Goggle may find someone using Fedora on a
similar model.

Each vendor has user forums where you can search for linux issues.
