My C++ compiles are getting longer. It's time to get new hardware, but I'm

I've had very good luck with Gigabyte motherboards. Even had one take a power surge over Ethernet. Took out the onboard network controller, the USB ports next to it and the primary BIOS but with the GB dual BIOS it just tries to post to the first one on bootup gives up and goes to the backup. Added a PCI-E network card and it's still working great as my MythTV box.
Best bang for the buck is probably the 3rd gen Ryzen 5, I like the 3600. It's got 6 cores and 12 threads and still a TDP of 65 watts. I have the 2nd gen 2600 and build software all the time.
I did pair it with a 500GB Samsung M.2 NVME SSD and have a 1TB spinning disk for /home.
Thanks,
Richard
