Yes! It was a (nice) surprise after a kernel update in f27 (I think):
suddenly the resolution was the resolution I entered in default-grub
file and moreover, instead of displaying the boot on only one screen, it
was displayed on all my monitors....
But now, it is back to an ugly resolution on only one screen.
The nouveau driver does the high resolution at boot though.
I know, I used nouveau before but since I upgraded from f28 to f29, this
no more works with my card and the 3 monitors.
I don't know why!
Nouveau is open source so there are lots of people who understand
in detail how it works. Since this is a regression, a good bug report
should get you an explanation, and there is good chance that you will
be provided with a solution (which may be a simple as some options
passed via the kernel startup line).
