FC29, Cinnamon desktop, fully updated. The printer is an Epson ET-4500, connected through WiFi. The Administration->Print Settings dialog detects the printer. Printing a test page works like a charm. But it seems like nothing else included with the system can print. xreader and xed for example, try to print then a little bubble in the corner of the desktop tells me that printing was cancelled. However, LibreOffice Writer (which, I understand, does its own printer magic) has no trouble printing.
I googled around and found some similar issues, all many years old. Those solutions did not help me. I tried getting the print driver directly from Epson. That also didn't help. At this point, I don't really know how to proceed with troubleshooting.

Hi Alan,
I have an Epson ET-3700 Continuous Flow inkjet printer as a network printer which I was using under F29 with the epson driver installed through cups without any issues. From memory I think I had to download the Epson network interface package before CUPS would see the printer as a network printer. I am now using F30 in a VM and under that CUPS cannot see the printer in its network printer list, but I can still install the Epson driver (which is necessary as CUPS does not have any native drivers for the printer that I can see) and I can print to the printer from Acrobat Reader which I have installed from Adobe. The issue I have with the printer is its print quality, at the moment, is hopeless, but I'm not sure at the moment whether its a F30, or a VM issue because I don't have the printer dedicated to the VM, I am accessing the printer via the Windows 10 network connection to the printer.
regards,
Steve
