I went through the standard Xfce printer setup and connected to my HP

But I want to use the scanner, like I have set up on my old F28
system, so I have installed hplip-gui, xsane, and such and started
hplip-gui.
It is telling me I have no HP printers installed.
I went through localhost:631 and installed the printer again. It now
shows there as well.
HPlip-gui still not seeing the printer.
What might I be missing here?
Try using "hp-setup" to add the printer to cups. It probably has the
wrong connection type for the HP tools to recognize it.
Thanks it worked this time. Probably when I did that via the setup
printer dialog from hplip-gui, I mistype the fqdn (my printer is on a
different subnet from my system).
step by step.
