Something (dnf?) overwrote /etc/default/grub and changed GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX. The root LVM changed from the working one to "rd.lvm.lv=fedora/root", despite there being no LVM by that name. It caused the machine to fail to boot. I have no idea why that happened on this one machine, and not on the other two.
