You have probably turned on tmux' mouse support. Try
set mouse off
Not in a gnome-terminal, but with tmux in a sakura terminal, and mouse
switched on like this via ~/.tmux.conf:
setw -g mouse on
I can still use the mouse and open links via right-click.
