You could see if there's a factory reset option, then see if there's a guided set-up process that asks you what mode it will operate in. Try renaming your own SSID, and select the newly named WiFi network. Another issue will be the networking addresses. e.g. If their equipment uses the 192.168.0.0-255 range, then change yours to use another range, such as 192.168.1.0-255, or 10.0.0.0-255.
