My nastiest issue is always BIOS update. I'll follow the
instructions to the letter and wind up with a bricked board
and have to mail order a new BIOS chip to get it working
again. That's why I never update the BIOS unless absolutely
forced to :-).
I've never had a BIOS update fail. For years my home
computer was a Victor 9000 (Chuck Peddie design) that
loaded the BIOS from disk at boot time, so I haven't done
as many BIOS updates on 8088/8086 hardware as most
PC enthusiasts.
