Just some further info on this, following the info provided by Rex relative to pam-kwallet, I installed pam-kwallet yesterday, and this morning when I started KDE networkmanager connected to the wifi network without prompting for the kwallet password. This is the first time this has ever happened, in terms of this is the first time I have ever installed pam-kwallet.
