Hi, I have an older AMD Phenom II motherboard with a new HD6450 to replace an older card that failed. While video works fine with this new card, it somehow causes the ethernet to fail. I've tried the card in the two different x4 slots that are available, and it doesn't make a difference. This is an onboard ethernet controller that was otherwise working fine. There's just no link light, and while I can configure it manually with ifconfig, it never detects a link. I can get it to work temporarily with another ethernet card, but this was pulled from another machine. Could this just be a general incompatibility? Or is there perhaps something I can change? I tried investigating the computer's BIOS and there really isn't much to change in terms of IRQ assignments or otherwise. Since the computer and Linux recognizes it, maybe there's something more that can be done? Maybe loading a different rtl8169 driver would work differently?
