The description of it says: This plugin is automatically installed by Mozilla to comply with the WebRTC specification and to enable WebRTC calls with devices that require the H.264 video codec. It doesn't appear to me that it is involved in providing h.264 player support. -- Conjecture is just a conclusion based on incomplete information. It isn't a fact.
