Well, without a history of how you got to this point I don't think I can offer much
more.  I suppose the only other question I have at point in my attempt to coming
close to duplicate your situation is to ask the following.

1.  When you first installed this system what version did you use?

2.  Later what DE environment did you add?   And how did you add it?
