My first suspicions would start with random software/hardware stuff-up,
so asking the obvious questions:

Have you restarted the network on the problem computer?
Have you rebooted the problem computer?
Have you power-cycled the printer?

And regarding the ping tests, did you use numerical IPs or hostnames?
