Any thoughts on what has happened will

I interpret your information as the iphone updated its storage ids and
the Gphoto app hasn't yet got those in its inventory, so it doesn't
know how to deal with them.
You could go to the Gphoto web page and see if they are aware of the
issue. If they are, an update will probably take care of the issue
eventually, once they reverse engineer the new storage ids.
If they aren't aware of the issue, you should search
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ to see if someone else has reported it and
chime in, or open a new ticket against Gphoto if they haven't.

U found nothing in Bugzilla or the
gphoto page, FAQ or doing a search on
the error "PTP Invalid Storage ID". That
may not be enough, but that's as far as
I've gone so far.
However, I tried the iPhone on another
F25 computer and had the same result.
I then tried a low-end Nikon cameras and
it works normally which leads me to
believe that I have something corrupted
in the iPhone.
My solution to the problem will be to
use the Nikon instead. I don't use the
iPhone as a cell phone anyway, mainly
for the camera and some test functions.
Perhaps after the next ios update it
will work again... If really desperate I
can email photos from the cell phone,
that works.
Thanks,
Bob
