I just upgraded my old laptop (Dell Vostro 1500) from F24 to F25 using the "dnf" plugins. Video is now a problem. My selected desktop wallpaper does not show, just a black background. Once drawn on the desktop, items remain. For example menus still show after making a selection although they are not active. Moving windows leave lots of ghost trailing images. If I switch workspaces then switch back the artifacts are gone, but still no wallpaper. The wallpaper does appear for an instant if I logout or reboot. My normal environment is sddm display manager, mate desktop environment, and compiz as the window manager. For the latter I've tried both the emerald and the gtk window decorators. I've tried display managers gdm and lightdm, window managers marco and mutter, and desktop environments cinnamon and gnome. All exhibit the same behavior. I also tried a root gui login to mate which exhibited the same behavior. The video hardware is nVidia GeForce 6800M, using Xorg, not Wayland, and the nouveau video driver. No xorg.conf file in use.
