    I haven't been following the thread, and I haven't used Fedora in a
    while, but I (like many others) was once a Linux newbie, and one of
    the first Linux

    distros I used was RedHat, so I've been there. That was about 13
    years ago or thereabouts. I'm a retired RF engineer, not a computer
    whiz, altho

    I did do some simple coding in BASIC and Pascal a long time ago. But
    I am certainly not doing development or admin on Linux--I'm just
    using the

    OS for general computing purposes--word processing, news downloads,
    Google maps, numerical conversions (Convertall), general information
    (Google),

    photo download and manipulation, DXMap, and the occasional
    relatively simple drafting operation (DraftSight). I have _almost_
    forsaken Windows; I only 

    use it for audio recording and OCR, since in my opinion Linux isn't
    there yet.

            Perhaps Fedora and other Nuxes are trying hard to be Windows
            ?:) :)

            Now that MS is a member of OSF, and on the board, perhaps
            Windows

            and Linux will merge into a single OS - like ... WinLin, or
            LinWin, Winux ?

            Argh!!! No mater how you name it, it sounds terrible!
