I've had a similar problem since Kernel 4.6.7 where any external screen would not be detected. It now only occurs only with my TV. In those instances where I want to use the TV I use Kernel 4.5.5. I filled a bug which hasn't gotten much attention here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1378686 Oh... and I have an Intel HD Graphics 5500. If that helps.
