enp4s0 is wire NIC and wlp3s0 is wireless NIC
Hi,
in order to use the ssh services, I looked for the internet address of my computer, and the ifconfig command gave the following output that I have difficulty 'to interpret :
-----------
[angelo_dev@localhost ~]$ sudo ifconfig
enp4s0: flags=4099<UP,BROADCAST,
MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether 60:02:92:2d:2a:1f txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet)
RX packets 0 bytes 0 (0.0 B)
RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 0 bytes 0 (0.0 B)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0
lo: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> mtu 65536
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0
inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 scopeid 0x10<host>
loop txqueuelen 0 (Local Loopback)
RX packets 279 bytes 28310 (27.6 KiB)
RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 279 bytes 28310 (27.6 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0
wlp3s0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,
RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 10.0.0.4 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 10.0.0.255
inet6 fe80::d253:49ff:fe32:3254 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link>
ether d0:53:49:32:32:54 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet)
RX packets 6575 bytes 4915408 (4.6 MiB)
RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0
TX packets 5595 bytes 972283 (949.4 KiB)
TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0
-----------
The output of ifconfig command shows two cards (enp4s0, wlp3s0) while on the computer, it is installed only one
.
What is 'the explanation of this fact?
Also I would like to be sure to exactly get the IP address of computer ..
so, please, I would ask what is the IP address to use for my purpose (127.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.4 -10.0.0.255) ??Thank youAngelo
