Allegedly, on or about 15 August 2016, geo.inbox.ignored sent: > yes, iirc, in some of my previous versions of TB = Thunderbird, there > were paint brushes. never could understand what was significant. Reminds of those dopey buttons on modern video games. You're supposed to remember special functions assigned to buttons with triangles and squares, or different colours. No logic to them. > something to be aware of, mozilla devs are on a witch hunt and intend > to code later versions to no accept any add-ons that do not come from > their site and stamp of approval. I'm not surprised by this, seems like all major software houses are going down the route of only allowing signed/authorised packages, to try and put an end to malware (of which there's scads of). Anti-virus, and other anti-malware, does not work. There's plenty of evidence of that. People don't install it, don't run it, don't update it, ignore its warnings, and install dodgy crap by themselves (whether by carelessness or stupidity - such as piracy-related hackware). About the only way to stop the clueless is make it next to impossible to install something that hasn't been (allegedly) vetted before release. -- [tim@localhost ~]$ uname -rsvp Linux 3.9.10-100.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Jul 14 01:31:27 UTC 2013 x86_64 Boilerplate: All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted, there is no point trying to privately email me, I only get to see the messages posted to the mailing list.
