kmod-nvidia-304xx and dnf

I have a problem. It happened also with yum, therefore it is not unique to dnf, but dnf inherited the task of updating the system.

Oftentimes, the kernel is updated and the corresponding kmod-nvidia package is not yet published. If I update the system, the kernel is updated, but because the kmod-nvidia package is not likewise updated, I end up with a black screen.

I can solve it easily by booting to the former kernel, but I wonder. Is there a way to keep the kernel from being ujpdated if the corresponding kmod-nvidia package is not available to be updated as well?
