Hi,
Thanks for that - I know of yumex (and agree - its very nice).
yum check-update however demonstrates why I get the feeling there is a dbus
related problem.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
% yumex

Note the IBUS-WARNING?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OTOH using apper
works and shows "Your system is up to date"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
% sudo yum update
Loaded plugins: langpacks
No packages marked for update
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So thats ok too!

Any other ideas?

I like packagekit because it informs me (or it did under FC20!) with a pop-up
that updates are available and asks if I want to download them.
It just ran in the background like a nice piece of magic and so I never needed
to worry much about exactly how it worked.

Any thoughts - clues?

Thanks again
Andy
